Porsche’s perfectly combined essences of luxury & sophistication, class leading refinements, cutting edge technology and of course their superlative performance were all borne from that most integral aspect of Porsche as an automobile maker par excellence – motorsports. The June 17th date chosen by Sime Darby Auto Performance to unveil Porsche’s latest 911 alongside the Macan GTS exemplifies Porsche’s deeply rooted affinity with motor racing as the its Facotry Endurance Racing Team sets about defending their victory last year at the ‘World’s Biggest Motor Race’ 24 Hours Le Mans to be run over the June 18th – 19th weekend.
Since its introduction in 1963, the Porsche 911 has provided the ultimate pairing of performance and practicality among the world’s sports cars, a vehicle that can be driven daily on the road and enjoyed during weekends at track events. The seventh generation of the 911 demonstrates this in every inch of its design in extremely convincing fashion.
In short, the seventh-generation Porsche 911 is longer, lower, has a wider front track and is loaded with state-of-the-art features: a new rear axle design to improve dynamic precision and stability, a new electro-mechanical power steering system, Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), enhanced Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and enhanced dynamic engine mount technology. The result raises the bar in driving dynamics with even more sure-footed tracking and roll stability.
The Porsche 911 continues to exemplify the automaker’s commitment to the Porsche Intelligent Performance philosophy – improved performance using less fuel with increased efficiency and reduced emissions. The new 911 Carrera is a prime example of this. Powered by a new, highly efficient 3.0 liter twin turbo flat-six engine, they offer significantly more torque than their naturally aspirated predecessors, bringing performance to a higher level than ever before.
The 911 Carrera has a 3-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine developing 370 hp, while the 3-liter flat six turbo engine powering both the 911 Carrera S and Carrera 4S now delivers 420hp (20 hp increase over the previous models). The cars also offer their maximum torque from 1,700 rpm to 5,000 rpm and can rev up to 7,500 rpm. This data is characteristic of exceptionally free-revving sports car engines. New PCM infotainment system offering significantly enhanced capabilities is another feature of these new models. The latest addition to the range is the new 2017 911 Turbo with up to 580 horsepower.
The 911 Carrera with the optional Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) and Sport Chrono Package accelerates from zero to 60 miles per hour in 4.0 seconds (0.2 sec faster than the previous model). With the same equipment, the 911 Carrera S takes just 3.7 seconds (0.2 sec faster), with the Carrera 4S faster yet by a tenth of a second. New PSM Sport mode provides a significantly higher intervention threshold. When equipped with all performance-enhancing options, the 911 Carrera S is capable of an astounding 7:30 lap around Nurburgring – a full 10 seconds faster than its predecessor.
Despite its supercar league performance figures the new 911 Carrera fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are pretty impressive in itself: 911 Carrera: 8.3 – 7.4 l/100 km fuel consumption/emissions combined; 190 – 169 g/km CO2 emissions; 911 Carrera S: 8.7 – 7.7 l/100 km fuel consumption/emissions combined; 199 – 174 g/km CO2 emissions; 911 Carrera 4S: 8.9 – 7.9 l/100 km fuel consumption/emissions combined; 204 – 180 g/km CO2 emissions.
Indeed, the new Porsche 911 Carrera is the epitome of a complete super sports car. The retail base price for the new 911 starts from (all prices come with 4-year warranty & free maintenance package; inclusive all applicable duties, excluding registration fee, road tax & insurance):

Porsche Macan GTS
The Macan GTS was derived from a concept that boasts plenty of space for hobbies, leisure and sport, but without any room for compromise; compact, concentrated and intensive, but still powerful, practical, but never ordinary. The Macan GTS incorporates all of the above essentials into a purposeful and sporty persona with a powerful highly efficient 360hp & 500Nm 3 liter V6 twin-turbo engine enabling the GTS to go 0 to 100 km/h in a matter of 5.2 seconds with a top speed of 256 km/h. There’s also the benchmark 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), while the Macan GTS particularly aggressive sound came from its specially tweaked sports exhaust system with black sports tailpipes for that unmistakable panache and sportiness.
Other noteworthy traits on the Macan GTS are numerous, one among them being the class leading Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). Integrated as standard; and the sports suspension, which sits 15 mm lower than that of the Macan S, maintains an intimate and intense relationship with the road. A typical trait for the Macan GTS.
The Macan GTS conveys an even lower and muscular stance with imposing presence courtesy of stylized front apron, featuring matt black air intake grilles, and the dynamically styled sideskirts. As do the gorgeous matt black sideblades, (exclusive to the Macan GTS), and its 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels in satin black completes its athletic appearance portraying lithe and speed in one eye pleasing package. Further visual accents on the Macan GTS includes: Bi-Xenon main headlights in black including Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), tinted LED taillights, black ‘GTS’ logo among others.
As sporty as they are exclusive, they simply can’t wait to blaze the tarmac. Visual accents are added by the Bi-Xenon main headlights in black including Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and the tinted LED taillights. Even the black ‘GTS’ logo on the rear makes something unmistakably clear: the Macan GTS accepts no compromise. Inside exquisite materials, such as leather and Alcantara®, and the latest version of Porsche Communication Management (PCM) add the finishing touches.
