Big boys need big toys. But what separates the boys from the men is where they put that big power in.


When Proton's tuning arm R3 first announced the production of its own limited edition R3 Satria, it was met with much anticipation and more importantly expectation. At that time, R3 was still considered to be too ‘young' (some quarters might still consider it so) to be coming out with anything as significant as this.

But this Motorsports Division is all about aggressive moves. With aim of always being at the forefront of motorsports development in this country; makes R3 unique. The division's badge itself is already well known by anyone thanks to the impact they are making on and off the race track. But really, coming out with the Satria R3 was probably what made them all the more relevant to everyday road users. With that I mean to those more inclined to appreciate great handling rides. As a matter of fact, the development of this limited edition car was done at competitive racing, especially during the SSO (Street Shoot Out) events.


So one fine day at the office, I made a call to CF Low of Exodus Motorsports in Sunway for a casual chat. In no time, things were swerving more on performance cars and the new jobs he has completed. One thing got me interested to say the least. That would be the car you see here. But with a little twist to it of course, as what can be expected from CF Low. I must admit that a turbine in a Satria R3 does sound interesting.

Actually, the car was prepped by Andy from Drager Racing. Since both these tuners enjoy a very close partnership thanks to an almost similar background (the business, not the individuals), both great lads came to the Hypertune office and gave a bit of history of this car.
